Junior Engineer

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional technical support and customer service across our analytical instrumentation portfolio. You will be responsible for achieving service performance goals while ensuring customers receive best-in-class technical expertise and support throughout Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on-site preventive maintenance, installation, qualification, troubleshooting, repair for product ranging from Ion Chromatography (IC), Liquid Chromatography (LC), Mass Spectrometry (MS) and Spectroscopy (FTIR/microscopes) systems
• Maintain accurate and timely service documentation, including service reports and PM reports within the company's business systems
• Manage instrument escalations and warranty claims accurately and in a timely manner to ensure prompt issue resolution
• Meet all service performance metrics, quality standards and financial commitments for the team
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers by providing proactive technical support and trusted service
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Technical Support, Customer Service, Product Management, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing to deliver seamless customer experiences
• Perform other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the role of a Field Service Engineer

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline
• Strong understanding of analytical instruments and its related applications
• Hands-on experience / Basic understanding with Ion Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, and/or Mass Spectrometry systems
• Experience with Thermo Fisher Scientific instruments is an advantage
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly learn and support new technologies and product platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience working within a matrix organization or cross-functional team environment is preferred
