Summary of Position

The Junior Estimator supports the estimating and preconstruction process by assisting with bid preparation, quantity takeoffs, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and proposal development. This role works closely with senior estimators to develop accurate project estimates and gain experience managing projects from bid solicitation through project handoff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other bid documents.

· Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist in developing project estimates.

· Solicit and track vendor and subcontractor pricing.

· Assist in preparing bid forms, proposals, scopes of work, and estimate summaries.

· Support pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid walkthroughs.

· Organize and maintain bid documentation and estimating records.

· Assist with project turnover and estimator-to-project manager handoff activities.

· Develop relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.

· Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.

· Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.

· 1-3 years of estimating, construction, project coordination, or related experience preferred.

· Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and estimating principles.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

· Experience with takeoff and estimating software (Bluebeam and Edge preferred).

· Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work collaboratively across teams.
