Junior Estimator

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in construction estimating, project cost analysis, and bid preparation. As a Junior Estimator, you will support senior estimators by gathering data, reviewing blueprints, and assisting in the preparation of accurate project estimates. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about the construction industry who are eager to grow their expertise in construction estimating.

Duties

• Assist in reviewing construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to interpret project scope and requirements
• Gather and analyze material costs using estimating software such as Agtek and Bluebeam
• Support the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and negotiate terms where appropriate
• Maintain organized spreadsheets and databases to track project costs, bid proposals, and estimating data
• Support senior estimators in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accurate estimation timelines and deliverables

Qualifications

• Proficient with AGTEK Takeoff(Required), Bluebeam, and other estimating or construction management software
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and cost tracking
• Knowledge of construction industry standards, contracts, and cost management principles
• Ability to read and review construction drawings accurately to estimate material requirements and costs
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
• Prior experience or internship in construction estimating or project management is a plus but not required
• Construction site experience or background in heavy civil or commercial projects is advantageous

Pay: $53,200.00 - $64,200.00 per year
