Junior Estimator (Pipeline Construction)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator specializing in Pipeline Construction to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for pipeline projects, supporting the project management and construction teams throughout the bidding and execution phases. Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and material requirements.
• Assist in developing detailed project estimates by analyzing labor, material, equipment costs, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals by compiling cost data, pricing materials, and calculating quantities from blueprints using Bluebeam and spreadsheets.
• Support negotiation processes with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Manage project budgets by tracking costs, updating estimates as project details evolve, and ensuring adherence to financial targets.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to communicate estimates clearly, explain assumptions, and address any queries related to cost proposals.
• Contribute to the review of construction management software data, ensuring accuracy in cost management and project documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating for commercial or pipeline projects with a strong understanding of the construction industry.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent; experience with Bluebeam, Xactimate, or other construction drawing review tools is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and estimating material requirements from blueprints.
• Familiarity with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for spreadsheets and document preparation.
• Ability to read and analyze construction drawings accurately while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and manage client relationships effectively.
• Knowledge of cost control techniques including material cost estimating, budgeting, and project cost management practices.
• Construction site experience or hands-on understanding of construction processes is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; ability to manage contracts and support project management activities.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
