Junior Field Engineer - Mining/Heap Leach Operations (FIFO)

About the role

This is a hands-on engineering role, not a desk job. You will lead a small crew of 3 to 5 operators on the heap and own the safe, technically correct delivery of Hydro-Jex® injections. You will be the senior technical person on the ground.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and supervising Hydro-Jex® injections and replenishments, including wellfield layout, solution volumes, flow rates and pressures
• Leading, training and mentoring your crew of senior and junior operators
• Conducting on-site investigations, taking readings and recording and analysing field data
• Adapting project parameters set by our technical team to real site conditions
• Driving the safety conversation: pre-starts, JSAs, toolbox talks, hazard identification and incident reporting
• Troubleshooting pumps, generators, valves, piping and instrumentation when conditions change
• Reporting daily and weekly progress to JEX management and the client

About you

• Degree in chemical, metallurgical, mining, mechanical, civil or process engineering
• Field experience in mining, drilling, construction or oil and gas (preferred)
• Experience leading a small crew, or ready to step up into it
• Genuinely practical: comfortable with tools, pumps and instrumentation, and able to solve problems on the spot
• Physically capable of working 12-hour shifts in remote conditions
• Current manual driver's licence. Dogging, rigging or crane tickets highly regarded
• Able to pass pre-employment and ongoing medical and drug assessments, and hold valid working rights in Australia
