Junior Floor Manager

NOW HIRING JUNIOR FLOOR MANAGER

We are looking for an energetic, friendly and hands-on Junior Floor Manager to join our team.

We are a small café that is growing and evolving from a self-service model into a more personalised waiter-service experience. This is a unique role ! We are looking for someone who is happy to be the main waiter and customer facing person on the floor, while also taking responsibility for the smooth running and presentation of the café.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be the main presence on the floor, welcoming customers, taking orders, upselling and ensuring an excellent customer experience from arrival to departure.
• Work closely with the baristas and kitchen team, who will assist on the floor during busy periods.
• Manage the flow of service and make sure customers are acknowledged and looked after.
• Help create a warm, energetic and welcoming atmosphere.
• Ensure the café is always neat, tidy, well presented and looking abundant.
• Ensure the lunch buffet is ready, presented beautifully and out on time.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen, baristas, GM and Owner throughout service.
• Assist with managing and directing staff during shifts.
• Responsible for either opening or closing the café, depending on the roster.
• Complete cash-ups and basic daily administration.
• Assist with month-end stock takes.
• Report directly to the General Manager and Owner.

• Naturally friendly, energetic and confident with customers.
• Passionate about excellent customer service.
• A strong waiter who understands how to read a table, upsell naturally and create a good experience.
• Organised and able to keep control of a busy floor.
• A good communicator with both customers and staff.
• Hands-on and willing to help wherever needed.
• Reliable, responsible and able to take ownership of a shift.
• Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash-ups.
• Previous waiter, supervisor or junior management experience in a café or restaurant environment is preferred.
• Barista experience would be a strong advantage.

This is not an office-based management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, interacting with customers and leading service from the front.
