Junior Full Stack Developer

Mummys Market is looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer with a strong foundation in PHP, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Drupal/Symfony.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on knowledge of Drupal, Symfony, or PHP-based CMS/frameworks and a solid understanding of OOP concepts. Candidates who are also familiar with modern JavaScript frameworks, Python, AI development tools, and emerging technologies will have an advantage.

We are looking for someone who can understand requirements, think critically, analyse problems, and implement solutions, rather than simply generate or copy code. The ability to use AI tools effectively while understanding and validating the generated code is also important.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance websites, web applications, APIs, and business systems.
• Develop and maintain applications using PHP, Drupal, Symfony, or other PHP frameworks/CMS platforms.
• Apply strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles when designing and developing applications.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
• Design, develop, and maintain MySQL databases, queries, relationships, indexes, and data structures.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, investigate root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Work with modern JavaScript technologies and frameworks such as ReactJS, VueJS, Next.js, or similar frameworks will have an advantage.
• Learn and contribute to projects using Python where required.
• Explore and implement new technologies, frameworks, libraries, and development tools where appropriate.
• Use AI coding tools to improve development productivity while reviewing, testing, debugging, and validating AI-generated code.
• Assist with AWS cloud services, deployment, server configuration, and application monitoring.
• Develop automation workflows using Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or similar platforms.
• Follow Git-based development practices and participate in code reviews.
• Work closely with senior developers, designers, and business teams.
• Continuously learn and adopt modern development technologies and best practices.

Mandatory

• Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.

• 0 - 2 years of development experience; internships and strong academic/personal projects are considered.

• Good knowledge of PHP.

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.

• Hands-on knowledge of at least one of the following:

• Drupal

• Symfony

• Strong knowledge of MySQL and SQL.

• Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, and API integration.

• Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Understanding of Git/version control.

• Ability to understand existing code and make changes without breaking existing functionality.
