Junior Full-Stack Engineer (Integrations)

We are looking for a motivated Junior Full-Stack Engineer to join our engineering team as our dedicated Integration Specialist. In this role, you will be the bridge between our platform and the outside world, building robust connections to popular CRMs and other essential third-party tools.

While you will work across our stack (NodeJS, React, MongoDB), your primary mission is connecting systems. You will build user-friendly configuration screens for our users, and resilient back-end pipelines to handle seamless data synchronization. Responsibilities

• Third-Party Integrations: Build, maintain, and troubleshoot connections with external APIs (starting with major CRMs), managing authentication, polling, and data syncs.
• Database Operations: Write efficient MongoDB queries, upserts, and aggregation pipelines to extract the exact data needed for external syncs, and securely store incoming third-party data.
• Webhook & API Engineering: Develop secure webhook listeners and backend endpoints using ExpressJS/NodeJS to handle incoming and outgoing data payloads.
• Resilient Data Pipelines: Implement asynchronous data syncing using BullMQ and Redis, ensuring API rate limits are respected, failed jobs are retried, and zero data is lost.
• Data Transformation: Write robust JavaScript/TypeScript logic to map, translate, and sanitize data moving between our database (MongoDB) and external systems.
• Integration Interfaces: Build intuitive configuration screens and data-mapping UIs using NextJS, ShadCN, and ReactFlow, allowing our users to easily set up their own integrations.
• API Investigation: Actively research, test, and document third-party API capabilities, limitations, and edge cases to inform product decisions.

• Messaging & Queues: BullMQ, Redis, AWS Valkey (for rate-limiting and job retries)
• Frontend: NextJS, React, ShadCN UI, ReactFlow (for integration logic mapping)

Requirements

• MongoDB Proficiency: Solid understanding of MongoDB, including document modeling, writing complex queries, and utilizing aggregation pipelines to format data for APIs.
• API & Webhook Proficiency: Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON parsing, and handling webhooks.
• Authentication Experience: Familiarity with modern API authentication flows, particularly OAuth 2.0, API keys, and Bearer tokens.
• Data Manipulation Skills: Strong core JavaScript/TypeScript skills specifically tailored to mapping complex data structures, filtering, and transforming JSON payloads.
• Backend Integration Basics: Experience using NodeJS and Express to build external-facing endpoints, proxy requests, or consume third-party data.
• Integration Debugging: A "learn-it-all" mindset with the patience to read third-party API documentation, heavily utilize tools like Postman/Insomnia, and debug cross-system data discrepancies.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience integrating with specific CRMs (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive) or marketing tools.
• Understanding of message queues (BullMQ) and background processing.
• Experience handling unpredictable API rate limits and implementing exponential backoff strategies.
