Junior Fullstack Software Engineer

About the opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Junior Fullstack Software Engineer to join our Growth domain, supporting the expansion of our regional Product team in Singapore. You will work alongside a talented and motivated international team, driving innovation across the entire customer journey. This role focuses on building the experiences our customers see and interact with every day, developing products that help us acquire, retain, and grow our customer base.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain features across the frontend and backend of our global platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, international teams to understand requirements, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to the development and evolution of system architecture, following established design principles and engineering best practices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, participate in code reviews, and apply coding standards to ensure software quality.
• Develop and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and functional tests, to improve software reliability.
• Work with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and testing processes to support reliable software delivery.
• Apply software design patterns and learn best practices in system reliability, including resiliency, monitoring, alerting, and scalability.
• Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues across frontend applications, backend services, and infrastructure, with guidance from experienced engineers.

What you need to be successful

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in software development, preferably in fullstack web development.
• Familiarity with React for frontend development and Golang for backend services. Experience with other frontend frameworks or backend programming languages is also welcome.
• Basic understanding of software architecture, design patterns, design principles, algorithms, and writing automated tests.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and its role in building scalable and maintainable applications is a plus.
• Foundational knowledge of relational and distributed databases, including database normalisation, ACID properties, transaction isolation, and indexing concepts.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience collaborating within cross-functional, international, agile teams.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and stakeholders from different disciplines.
