Junior General Accountant

Job Responsibilities

Record daily transactions and maintain accurate journal entries and general ledger records.

Reconcile supplier and customer accounts, bank accounts, and cash balances.

Record payments, collections, expenses, advances, and petty cash transactions.

Maintain accounting records for inventory and spare parts.

Verify and organize invoices, receipts, and supporting documents.

Assist with monthly and year-end closing, management reports, and expense analysis.

Support VAT and other Egyptian tax filings in coordination with external advisors.

Assist with payroll preparation and employee expense records.

Maintain personnel files, contracts, attendance, leave, and social insurance documentation.

Support onboarding, offboarding, and routine personnel procedures.

Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, banks, external accountants, and relevant authorities as needed.

Desired Candidate Profile

Key Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

Experience

1 3 years of accounting experience.

Experience in an import or trading company is highly preferred.

Exposure to payroll, personnel administration, and Egyptian social insurance procedures is highly preferred.

Skills

Good understanding of journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.

Basic knowledge of Egyptian VAT and tax requirements.

Very good Microsoft Excel skills; experience with accounting or ERP software is an advantage.

Good written and spoken English.

Strong attention to detail, organization, integrity, and confidentiality.
