What they need

About the Role

We are an educational publishing business looking for a junior or early-career designer with strong visual design skills and good Microsoft PowerPoint ability to help produce professional educational materials.

We already have established educational content, templates, visual references and design direction. Your role will be to transform supplied content and drafts into polished, visually consistent and professional learning resources, primarily using Microsoft PowerPoint.

This is not an instructional-design or content-writing position. You will not normally be expected to develop lessons, curricula or educational content from scratch.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have a good eye for layout, typography, spacing, colour, alignment and visual hierarchy and who are comfortable recreating and adapting supplied designs in PowerPoint.

You do not need many years of professional experience. Recent graphic-design graduates and talented early-career designers are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated visual ability is more important to us than years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and format professional educational resources primarily in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Transform supplied content and drafts using established templates and visual guidelines.
  • Accurately recreate supplied designs and visual mock-ups in PowerPoint.
  • Apply good design principles to typography, spacing, alignment, colour and visual hierarchy.
  • Ensure materials remain clean, consistent and easy to edit.
  • Format supporting documents in Microsoft Word when required.
  • Review completed materials for visual consistency, formatting and accuracy.
  • Manage assigned production work independently and meet agreed deadlines.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong visual-design skills and a good understanding of layout, typography, spacing, alignment, colour and visual hierarchy.
  • Good to advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills, including working with shapes, text boxes, images, tables, alignment, grouping, guides and reusable layouts.
  • Ability to look at a supplied visual reference or mock-up and reproduce it accurately in PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create clean, professional and uncluttered layouts.
  • Good Microsoft Word formatting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency.
  • Good written English.
  • Ability to follow established templates and visual guidelines accurately.
  • Ability to make sensible visual and formatting decisions independently.
  • Ability to manage assigned work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • A reliable computer capable of running Microsoft Office.
  • Dependable internet access and a reasonable backup arrangement for power interruptions.

Desirable Skills

Any of the following would be an advantage but are not essential:

  • Graphic-design education or training
  • Canva
  • Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or similar design software
  • Presentation design
  • Document or publication layout
  • Infographic design
  • Experience producing educational, training, publishing or corporate materials

Teaching and instructional-design qualifications are not required.

Who We Would Particularly Like to Hear From

This role may suit someone who:

  • recently completed graphic-design or visual-communication training;
  • is building their professional design career;
  • already creates attractive presentations, documents, brochures, infographics or digital materials;
  • enjoys working within an established visual system rather than having to invent every design from scratch;
  • is comfortable using PowerPoint as a design and production tool; and
  • wants consistent, ongoing part-time production work.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means being able to take supplied content, templates and visual references and independently turn them into accurate, polished and visually consistent PowerPoint resources.

We are not looking for someone to redesign our materials or create a new visual identity. We are looking for someone who can understand an established design system and apply it accurately and efficiently across many resources.

Working Arrangement

This is a remote, part-time position requiring approximately 20–25 hours per week.

Working hours are generally flexible, although occasional brief online check-ins may be required during agreed business hours.

Compensation: ₦120,000–₦150,000 per month, depending on demonstrated skills and experience.

An additional ₦10,000 monthly internet/data allowance will be provided.

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • Your CV.
  • A short introduction explaining your experience with graphic design, visual layout and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Examples of visual work, if available.

Your work samples do not have to be PowerPoint presentations. We welcome examples such as:

  • presentations;
  • brochures or flyers;
  • infographics;
  • reports or document layouts;
  • Canva designs;
  • educational materials;
  • social-media graphics; or
  • other work that demonstrates your visual-design ability.

Don't have a formal portfolio? You may still apply.

Applicants whose profiles appear suitable but who do not have sufficient work samples may be invited to complete a brief PowerPoint skills exercise by recreating a supplied visual reference.

Candidates who perform well during the initial screening will be shortlisted for a more comprehensive paid practical assessment based on the actual type of production work required for the role.

Pay: ₦120,000.00 - ₦150,000.00 per month
