Junior Graphic Designer

Overview

Civitas Agency, a creative communications and public affairs firm located in Downtown Nashville, is seeking a talented, creative and motivated Junior Graphic Designer to join our team. You will help support a diverse roster of clients, including government agencies, economic development organizations, trade associations and politically minded nonprofits across Tennessee and nationally.

This is an opportunity for a recent college graduate or emerging designer to build a strong portfolio, develop new skills and contribute to meaningful creative work across digital media, advertising, branding and website design. We value talent, creativity and potential, and will consider candidates strictly based on their portfolio and work ethic.

The ideal candidate MUST be located in the Greater Nashville Region and able to work in person at our Downtown Nashville office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays working remotely from home.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce graphics, animations and short-form videos for social media, digital advertising and marketing campaigns.
• Write, proofread and edit social media copy, ensuring content aligns with each client’s brand voice, messaging and communication goals.
• Manage social media content calendars, prepare and schedule posts, and maintain consistent publishing across client accounts.
• Assist with website design and development, including layouts, wireframes, prototypes and user-friendly experiences using Figma and WordPress.
• Create logos, brand identity materials, advertisements, digital banners and other print and digital assets using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Collaborate with the team to develop creative concepts and campaigns, incorporate feedback and deliver quality work across multiple projects and tight deadlines.

Requirements

• A degree in graphic design, visual communications, digital media or a related field is preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of website and UX/UI design, including the ability to create layouts and prototypes in Figma.
• Foundational knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects.
• Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content to different client brand voices.
• Understanding of design fundamentals, including typography, composition, color theory and visual hierarchy.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms and an interest in social media management, digital marketing and content creation.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel in-state and out-of-state as needed.
