Junior Ground Support System (GSS) Engineer

The Junior Ground Systems Support (GSS) Engineer plays a key role in the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and maintenance of ground systems equipment within our teleport facility. As part of our 24x7 shift team, you will help ensure our satellite and communications systems run smoothly while developing your technical skills in a dynamic environment.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The focus of this role is to ensure world-class ground facilities services, particularly the Subic Bay Freeport Zone teleport and partner teleports located globally

• System Monitoring & Facilities Maintenance:  Monitor teleport systems (Antenna, RF, and related equipment) and assist with routine preventive and corrective maintenance of all facilities.
• Incident Response: Respond to system alarms and service interruptions, perform basic troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues to senior engineers when necessary.
• Operations Support: Support uplink and downlink operations, as well as the installation and testing of new equipment.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate shift logs, maintenance records, and system performance reports.
• Inventory Management: Support inventory management, including asset transfers between teleports, and work with the logistics team to keep ERP records up to date.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Assist with general operational support, including basic data entry for the ERP system and coordinating with the procurement and inventory teams during rollouts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field. Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, RF systems, or satellite communications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a genuine eagerness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-service-oriented approach.
• Familiarity with basic IP networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
• Exposure to testing equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, power meters).
• Basic knowledge of VSAT, broadcast systems, or monitoring tools.
• Able to work on a 24x7 rotating shift schedule.
