Adcock Equipment USA Inc. – Fort Worth, TX Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day ShiftPay: $23–$27/hour, depending on experience

Adcock Equipment USA is looking for a Junior Heavy Equipment Technician to join our Fort Worth team.

This is a hands-on position for someone with mechanical ability who wants to continue developing their skills working on boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers and other construction equipment.

You will work alongside an experienced heavy-equipment technician and assist with inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and used-equipment reconditioning.

This is also a team role. Mechanical work is an important part of the position, but everyone helps where needed. Duties will also include loading and unloading equipment, washing machines, minor cosmetic touch-up, moving equipment around the yard and preparing equipment for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect new and used equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine service
  • Assist with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting
  • Complete basic and intermediate repairs based on experience
  • Replace batteries, hoses, switches, filters, tires and other components
  • Assist the senior technician with larger or more technical repairs
  • Recondition used equipment for resale
  • Wash and prepare equipment for sale
  • Perform minor paint and cosmetic touch-up
  • Load and unload equipment from trucks and trailers
  • Move and organize equipment throughout the yard and shop
  • Complete equipment condition reports and inspections
  • Test equipment after repairs
  • Document work completed and parts used
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area
  • Help other team members as required

  • JLG
  • Genie
  • SkyTrak
  • Skyjack
  • Haulotte
  • MEC
  • Snorkel
  • Xtreme

Previous aerial-equipment experience is helpful but not required.

Experience working with construction equipment, forklifts, automotive, agriculture, diesel equipment or similar machinery may also be a good fit.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Previous hands-on mechanical experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of engines, electrical systems and hydraulics
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Able and willing to learn from an experienced technician
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to troubleshoot problems logically
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
  • Willing to perform mechanical, yard, washing, loading and equipment-preparation duties
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to safely operate and work around heavy equipment
  • Comfortable working as part of a small team

We are looking for someone who understands that no job is beneath anyone on the team. Depending on what needs to get done that day, you may be repairing a machine, washing equipment, loading a truck or helping another team member.

Opportunity to Grow

This position is a good opportunity for someone who wants to develop into a more experienced heavy-equipment technician.

You will gain experience with:

  • Hydraulic systems
  • Electrical diagnostics
  • Engine troubleshooting
  • Aerial lift systems
  • Telehandler systems
  • Equipment inspections
  • Used-equipment reconditioning
