Job Description

As a Junior Instructional Designer, you will transform information, ideas, and messages into clear, compelling, and engaging content experiences. You will design narratives and develop content for a range of purposes, including e-learning, education, awareness, marketing, sales, and product communication. Working closely with project leads, subject matter experts, designers, and other stakeholders, you will research and understand the audience, structure content, craft stories and scripts, develop storyboards, and incorporate appropriate visual, multimedia, and interactive elements. You will also explore AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance creativity, content quality, and development workflows while ensuring that every deliverable meets its intended purpose and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand project briefs, audience needs, communication goals, and desired outcomes.
• Research and synthesize information from multiple sources, including complex or technical subject matter.
• Apply instructional design principles to develop learning objectives, content flows, storyboards, scenarios, and assessments, as required by the project.
• Develop narratives, storylines, and content structures that communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
• Create storyboards, scripts, and learning assets that integrate multimedia, assessments, and interactivity, translating ideas into clear screen-by-screen experiences.
• Write, edit, and refine scripts, copy, and other content for educational, e-learning, awareness, marketing, sales, and product communication projects.
• Incorporate appropriate visual, multimedia, and interactive elements to create engaging content experiences.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, project managers, designers, developers, and clients to translate concepts into effective deliverables.
• Use AI tools to support research, ideation, writing, storyboarding, and content development.
• Review and refine content to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, quality, and alignment with project objectives.
• Evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs, taking responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and appropriateness of final deliverables.
• Oversee course production, ensuring timelines, quality, and user engagement are maintained
• Manage assigned tasks, communicate progress, incorporate feedback, meet deadlines, and contribute to improving team processes and workflows.

• Ability to learn new tools, concepts, subject domains, technologies, and workflows quickly.
• Ability to use AI tools effectively through prompting, iteration, critical evaluation, and refinement, while taking responsibility for final output.
• Strong critical thinking and judgment skills to evaluate, refine, and validate AI-generated content.
• Attention to detail and accountability for the accuracy, quality, and appropriateness of deliverables.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

• Experience or a portfolio demonstrating storytelling, content writing, scriptwriting, copywriting, or narrative development.
• Familiarity with instructional design models like ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and theories such as Adult Learning Theory.
• Experience creating storyboards, e-learning content, educational material, marketing content, or awareness campaigns.
• Foundational understanding of visual design principles, including layout, visual hierarchy, typography, and color theory.
• Familiarity with accessibility principles and WCAG guidelines.
• Knowledge of interaction design, scenario-based learning, gamification, or microlearning.
• Familiarity with video editing, animation, multimedia production, or visual storytelling tools.
• Foundational proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar tools.
• Experience using AI tools for research, writing, ideation, visual generation, storyboarding, or multimedia content creation.
• Experience with LMS platforms, SCORM-compliant content, or basic HTML/CSS.
• Exposure to client-facing projects, stakeholder coordination, or working with SMEs, designers, and project managers.

Educational Qualifications:

• Graduate Degree: A degree in any discipline is welcome, provided you have the skills and capabilities to meet the requirements of the role.
• Preferred Background: Graduates in Design, Education, Communication, English, Media, Animation, or related fields will be preferred.
• Preferred Certification: Certification in Instructional Design or Instructional Design Practice is an advantage.
