Junior - Intermediate BAS Accountant

About the role
We are seeking a driven Intermediate Accountant to join a growing, supportive team in Christchurch.
Reporting to the Team Leader, you'll work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients and becoming a trusted advisor to help them achieve their goals. This is more than just a compliance focused position, this is an opportunity to become a genuine advisory consultant. 

Key responsibilities

• Preparing GST returns and ensuring compliance obligations are met.
• Processing payroll for clients.
• Preparing income tax returns.
• Preparing financial statements and reports.
• Assisting clients with proactive tax management and planning.
• Meeting with clients, building strong relationships, and providing practical business advice

What we're looking for

• Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience
• Technical Skill: Solid understanding of business taxation (GST, PAYG) and proficiency
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and translate technical compliance requirements easily.
• Approach: Strong time management skills, high attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward ongoing professional development.
