Junior IT & System Developer

Position Summary

This role is created to build the technological foundation of the architecture studio — from daily operational systems to AI-driven automation and data infrastructure/security. The candidate will work directly with the Director to design and implement systems from scratch, with the potential to grow into a lead/senior role as the IT team expands in the future.

1. Client-Facing Systems (Customer Service & Sales Automation)

• Design and build an automated quotation system: clients fill out a form describing their needs (building type, size, location, budget range) → the system generates an initial estimate based on historical project data.

• Build a simple client portal: where clients can view design progress, upload references, approve revisions, and download documents.

• Develop a chatbot/AI assistant to answer prospective clients' initial questions (FAQs, consultation scheduling, filtering serious leads).

• Integrate with the WhatsApp Business API for client communication.

  Goal: Reduce manual work in quotation and client follow-up to make the process more scalable as project volume grows.

1. Internal Operations System

• Build a project tracker: monitor project status from concept design → DED (detailed engineering design) → construction, all in one dashboard.
• Manage a document management system: structured storage for working drawings, budget plans (RAB), contracts, and site progress photos.
• Create a simple resource/timeline planning system for team allocation and project deadlines.

1. AI & Automation Layer

• Research and implement AI tools relevant to the studio's needs (e.g., drafting technical specifications, analyzing client briefs).
• Build automation workflows using tools like n8n/Make/Zapier for repetitive tasks (follow-up reminders, internal notifications, syncing data between systems).
• Evaluate new AI tools and provide recommendations to the Director on which are worth adopting.

1. Infrastructure & Security

• Set up and maintain servers (cloud/VPS) for hosting internal systems.
• Perform regular backups of client and project data.
• Implement basic security measures: access control, encryption of sensitive data, protection against common attacks on the client portal.
• Ensure basic compliance with client data privacy, particularly personal and financial data.

1. Leadership Track (6–12 months ahead)

• Document the systems built so they can be managed by a team, not dependent on one individual.
• Help define requirements for future hires (junior developer, IT support).
• Onboard and mentor new team members as the IT team grows.
