Junior IT Infrastructure & Compliance Engineer

About the role

This role involves ensuring reliable delivery of technical services and driving performance and reliability across software and infrastructure. You will provide preventative support and integration activities within Windows Server environments, VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox, Proxmox, and other virtualization platforms, while supporting the design, deployment, and maintenance of complex systems supporting business-critical customer environments. You will act as a technical resource and advocate for reliable infrastructure and engineering practices, and develop and manage the company's IT security and compliance roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor network, security, server, storage, and computer systems
• Manage, maintain, and support servers, network devices, storage systems, and productivity tools
• Proactively monitor systems and identify performance and availability issues
• Test and implement changes to networks, hardware, and software
• Monitor service delivery against budget, quality standards, and customer/business requirements
• Coordinate infrastructure design and setup activities throughout different stages of projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and prepare status reports
• Maintain project plans, technical documentation, system builds, and configuration changes
• Research, identify, and implement appropriate security solutions
• Perform computer and network security vulnerability assessments and scans to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities

About you

• Good knowledge of Internet routing, registries, IP addressing, and networking technologies such as DNS, DHCP, FTPS, VLAN, and WAN
• Proficiency in Linux, SQL, and Microsoft Visio for infrastructure design and documentation
• Experience with firewalls, NSGs, Application Gateway, Auto Scaling, and Load Balancers
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical skills
• Good understanding of network security concepts and experience supporting converged network environments
• Working knowledge of operating systems including Windows Server, Linux, Unix, Solaris, and AIX
• Knowledge or experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience deploying or supporting endpoint security solutions such as Antivirus (AV), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) is highly desirable
