About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Java Developer with 0–2 years of experience to help develop, test and maintain Java-based applications. You will work alongside experienced developers, contribute to backend services and REST APIs, and build your skills in Java, Spring Boot and database technologies. Relevant internship, academic and personal project experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain Java applications with guidance from senior developers.
• Help build backend services and REST APIs using Spring Boot.
• Write SQL queries and support database integration.
• Troubleshoot issues, fix bugs and write unit tests.
• Participate in code reviews, maintain documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Relevant internships and academic or personal projects are welcome.
• Practical experience building a Java application or backend project.
• Good problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and apply feedback.

Required Skills

• Core Java, object-oriented programming, collections and exception handling.
• Basic knowledge of Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.
• Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP concepts.
• Familiarity with SQL and a relational database such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Basic experience with Git and version control.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Hibernate or JPA.
• Familiarity with Maven, JUnit or Mockito.
• Understanding of microservices and CI/CD concepts.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure or Docker.
• A GitHub portfolio or relevant project demonstration.
