JUNIOR LAWYER

About the role

We are looking for a junior lawyer for Karst & Partners, which is a counterpart of the German law office Karst – Legal & Tax. This position mainly deals with legal issues arising from the areas of taxation, foreign direct investments (FDI), data protection, litigation, family and inheritance law. The relevant Thai office was set up primarily to support a BOI-promoted, legal tech platform based in Thailand, in order to uphold market equilibrium on the platform's marketplace. The junior lawyer will have the opportunity to not only understand the structure of a legal tech startup but will encounter a variety of legal areas besides the original focus of the German office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice to clients on the legal tech startup's marketplace
• Prepare legal notes and legal review of potential products for said startup
• Support data protection audits and prepare advice on data privacy matters
• Handle other international and FDI-related cases arising from the office's Thai-German nature

About you

• Thai Law Degree (LL.M. or similar)
• Passed the bar examination in Thailand
• PQE: 0-3 years (fresh graduates welcome)
• Good general knowledge of Thai civil and administrative law as well as procedural aspects
• Knowledge in legal tech and data protection is added value but not vital at this point
• Open, communicative, professional character
• Thai and English (fluent)
