Junior Lofter / Drafter

Key Responsibilities

• Create 2D drawings and assist with 3D models using AutoCAD
• Support lofting and plate development e orts
• Assist in preparing CNC cutting files using AutoCAD 2D
• Revise drawings based on redlines and engineering feedback
• Maintain organized documentation and drawing revisions
• Learn fabrication methods and manufacturing best practices
• Collaborate with senior designers, engineers, and production teams

Required Qualifications

• Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and punctuality
• 0–4 years of drafting/design experience (heavy industrial or shipyard preferred)
• Willingness and ability to learn and accept feedback
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D experience a plus)
• Basic understanding of fabrication drawings and blueprint reading

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree or certification in Drafting or Design
• Introductory knowledge of GD&T
• Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor
• Experience with heavy structural steel and welded designs
• Lofting experience
• Experience developing CNC cutting files
• Experience with CVN or submarine structural design and drafting
• Experience with ASME Code pressure vessel and heat exchanger design
• Proficiency with Microsoft O ice (Excel, Word, Teams)
