We produce iron ore concentrate for export using a unique alluvial mining process involving dredging, heavy mobile plant, and spiral separation techniques.

We are looking for a motivated and organised Junior Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to join our maintenance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in maintenance planning and scheduling, working alongside our experienced Senior Maintenance Planner and wider maintenance team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Planner, you will support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities across our mobile and fixed plant assets.

You will work closely with maintenance trades and supervisors, operations, stores, procurement, contractors, and the Senior Maintenance Planner to ensure maintenance work is well planned, properly resourced, and ready to be executed safely and efficiently.

This role will provide the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge across maintenance planning, CMMS systems, reliability, materials coordination, and shutdown planning.

  • Assist with creating weekly and daily maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities with operations and maintenance teams
  • Conduct field verification of work scopes where required
  • Liaise with stores and procurement to ensure parts and materials are available
  • Maintain accurate work orders, job plans, asset history, and other CMMS records
  • Assist with identifying recurring equipment issues and maintenance improvement opportunities
  • Support preventative maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Assist with shutdown planning and post-job reviews
  • Monitor maintenance work progress and communicate potential delays or constraints
  • Support maintenance reporting and continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure planned work incorporates appropriate safety, environmental, and permit requirements

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is organised, practical, detail-focused, and keen to build a career in maintenance planning.

You may already have experience in maintenance planning or scheduling, or you may be a tradesperson, technician, engineering graduate, or maintenance professional looking to take the next step into planning.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 1–3 years' experience in maintenance, planning, scheduling, coordination, or a related industrial environment
  • A trade, engineering, technical qualification, or relevant maintenance experience
  • Experience in mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, quarrying, or a similar environment is advantageous
  • Exposure to fixed or mobile plant equipment
  • An understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principles
  • Experience with a CMMS such as MEX, SAP, Pronto, Maximo, or similar is advantageous
  • Good Microsoft Excel and computer skills
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to spend time in the field
  • A strong commitment to health and safety
  • A current full driver's licence

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is keen to learn, takes pride in their work, and wants to develop into a capable maintenance planning professional.

  • Work in a unique and dynamic iron sand mining environment
