Junior Mechanic

About the Role

As a Mechanical Assistant, you will support the repair, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of light and heavy equipment. You will work closely with the Senior Mechanic and Chief Mechanic to ensure that equipment is properly serviced, safe to operate, and maintained in reliable working condition.

What You Will Do:

• Assist in the repair and maintenance of light and heavy equipment.
• Dismantle damaged or defective mechanical parts that require replacement under the close supervision of the Senior Mechanic, Chief Mechanic, or Shop Supervisor.
• Work as a team member on assigned Job Orders.
• Assess parts that require replacement and determine the probable cause of equipment failure.
• Conduct checklists and inspections of light and heavy equipment.
• Prepare work accomplishment reports.

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of gas and diesel engine functions and operations.
• Knowledge of tools and their proper functions.
• Ability to operate light equipment.
• Must know how to drive.
• Hardworking and willing to learn.
• Graduate of any trade school or related technical program.
• Familiarity with light and heavy equipment.
• 1–2 years of experience in light and heavy equipment repair and maintenance is preferred.
