What they need

Want to revolutionise the packaging industry?

We’re looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to get hands-on and help us scale sustainable packaging.

Based at our Sandringham site, you’ll work alongside our engineering team across product development, tooling, production optimisation, and special-purpose machinery. You’ll apply your engineering and problem-solving skills to improve process efficiency, equipment performance, and product consistency.

This is a great role for someone early in their engineering career who wants to work on real-world projects, learn from an experienced team, and see their work move from concept through to production.

You will primarily be working in CAD to support the engineering workflow, while also getting hands-on with 3D printers, laser cutters, jigs, fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing equipment.

We’re looking for someone curious, practical, keen to learn, and excited about solving problems. You’ll be supported by senior engineers and technicians, but will also have the opportunity to take ownership, contribute ideas, and directly help bring our sustainable materials to market.

Key Responsibilities may include:

  • Create CAD models, assemblies and drawings and DXFs in Fusion.

  • Operating 3D printers, laser-cutters  and other engineering equipment to manufacture tools, jigs, fixtures, product samples etc

  • Product development support

  • Production optimisation

  • Special purpose machine design and build

Desirable Qualifications and Experience/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) is an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate findings effectively.
  • A passion for sustainability and an understanding of the environmental impact of traditional packaging materials.

Benefits:

  • Opportunity to work on real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing of sustainable materials.
  • A supportive and collaborative work culture focused on innovation and learning.
  • Mentorship from engineers and founders with diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Be part of a growing team in a startup environment that values creativity and problem-solving.
