Junior Network Planning Engineer Intern - Part time for a student

Interning as a Network Planning Engineer you will:
This internship is designed as a practical entry point into enterprise networking,especially for students with limited work experience. You will start with well-definedtasks and gradually grow your technical and business understanding by working on realprojects that have visible impact. With strong mentoring and hands-on exposure, youwill see how networks are planned and built in the real world.

• Take part in diverse real-life network projects, ranging from small extensions and upgrades of existing network infrastructure to large-scale initiatives, such as building network connectivity for new manufacturing facilities, office relocations, or site expansions.
• Collaborate closely with experienced Technical Planners on new network demand analysis, helping to collect, structure, and document technical and business requirements for network-related initiatives.
• Support the translation of business needs into clear technical specifications, ensuring that proposed network solutions align with functional, security, and performance expectations.
• Assist in network solution design activities, including high-level architecture discussions covering LAN, WAN, wireless, and connectivity services, under the guidance of senior engineers. See network design from capacity, resiliency and security planning perspective.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical documentation, making network designs, standards, and diagrams easier to understand and better aligned with business requirements and stakeholder needs.

What should you know / have:

• Good communication skills in English (both written and spoken), enabling you to work with international teams and clearly document technical information
• Basic technical knowledge of network infrastructure and networking principles (e.g., LAN/WAN/Wireless concepts, IP networking, routing and switching fundamentals).
• Interest in modern enterprise networking technologies such as wireless networks, remote connectivity, and secure network services.
• A proactive mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn in a complex, global IT environment.

What will you do / learn:
You don’t need years of experience — you’ll start with smaller tasks and grow into complex, exciting projects.

• Participate in real business-driven projects, where you will gain hands-on exposure to requirements related to modernizing, extending, or building new network infrastructure in corporate and manufacturing environments.
• Learn how enterprise networks are planned, documented, and operated end to end, from initial demand and design through implementation and service handover.
• Gain practical experience with industry-standard tools used to document and monitor network infrastructure, such as ServiceNow CMDB and NetBrain, and understand their role in large-scale IT operations.
• Support detailed network design and end-to-end implementation activities, working alongside senior planners and engineers on global infrastructure initiatives.
• Build a strong foundation in how networking supports business continuity, security, and digital transformation in a multinational organization.
