Junior Networking (UC) Engineer (m/f/d)

We are seeking a customer-focused Network Engineer early in their career with a primary focus on Unified Communications (UC). The role specifically supports a large customer in the banking industry and will be responsible for managing the smooth operations of their UC environment. This is an outstanding opportunity to work in a top-class environment with a variety of technologies and mature ITIL-aligned processes so there will be great development and experience on offer. The role will require on-site attendance and be part of an on-site team. Between them, this team will cover the hours of 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. The team will be remotely supported by a broader team of experienced senior engineers for complex issues. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day requirements of the customer’s UC environment, ensuring the end users receive an excellent support experience, that all relevant devices are monitored for performance issues and that special attention is given to achieving agreed service levels.

• Respond to incoming incidents and service requests
• Resolve issues, remotely and in person
• Manage the communication with internal customers on open incidents and requests
• Accurately record all work in the ticket management system
• Ensure service levels are achieved
• Collaborate with internal teams as necessary

Skills, Experience and attributes we are looking for:

• Exposure to UC technologies (MS Teams, Cisco conferencing equipment, call recording, monitoring solutions, etc.), with data networking skills an advantage
• Degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent experience
• Working towards an industry certification such as Cisco CCNA, Teams MS-900, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent experience
• Ability to analyse and troubleshoot problems, recommend solutions, and act on them
• An articulate communicator, customer-focused and conscious of service delivery
• Motivated and assertive, comfortable working with others in a demanding environment
