Junior Operations Associate

EDWATEC SA is a high-tech startup and a spin-off from EPFL. We develop advanced photonic integrated circuits for on-chip optical amplification and lasing, enabling compact, high-performance, and scalable solutions for optical communications, AI datacenters, space applications, quantum technologies, sensing, and metrology.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Operations Associate to join our operations team and support the company’s day-to-day activities, procurement, logistics, and operational growth. This is a multidisciplinary role at the interface of operations, supply chain, procurement, and customer support. The ideal candidate combines technical understanding with excellent organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to quickly learn and manage a broad range of tasks in a fast-paced deep-tech environment.

Your tasks:

• Support day-to-day company operations, internal processes, and operational compliance.

• Manage purchasing and procurement activities, including placing orders, following up with suppliers, and tracking deliveries.

• Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including import/export documentation and customs-related procedures.

• Organize logistics for customer visits, conferences, and trade shows, including equipment preparation and booth setup.

• Support laboratory operations, equipment management, resource planning, and inventory.

• Maintain supplier and service-provider relationships and coordinate with external partners.

• Support budget tracking, operational planning, and resource allocation.

• Maintain project and operational documentation and prepare reports as needed.

• Assist with customer visits, technical exchanges, and product demonstrations.

• Contribute to business development and other cross-functional activities as needed.

Your profile:

• At minimum a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep track of details.

• Good technical understanding and the ability to quickly learn new technical concepts and processes.

• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a reliable and service-oriented approach.

• Fluent in both French and English . German is a plus.

• Basic programming knowledge, particularly in Python, is a plus.

• Previous experience working with CRM tools is a plus.

MUST HAVE: Swiss or EU citizenship or a valid Swiss work permit.
