Junior OT Operational Analyst

Job context

The mission takes place within an operational team of 9 people providing OT services to various internal business stakeholders, mainly in power generation, but also in trading, facility management and gas storage. The team delivers services largely based on an industrial data platform including a historian database used to archive process data, perform calculations and make data available to users through websites, Excel reports and external applications such as BI and cloud tools. The team is responsible for installation, configuration, monitoring, support, training and small custom developments around this platform. The service currently supports more than 4,000 users and more than 400 connected data sources, with stakeholders located mainly in Europe and also in Latin America, the Middle East and Australia.

Main responsibilities

The consultant will join the Operations team and focus on run activities for the various industrial data systems.

Responsibilities include:
• Monitoring of systems and data sources
• Incident management and first-line operational support
• Acting on a rotating basis as single point of contact for end users, once a week
• User support for calculations, analytical models and tag management
• Participation over time in implementation and project activities
• Installation and configuration of new interfaces
• Setup of new data flows to cloud environments
• Development of small scripts and utilities
• Execution of data migration tasks

Requested profile

The expected profile has an IT background through studies, experience or strong interest, and is motivated to work at the intersection of IT and OT in an industrial environment.

Expected qualifications and skills:
• Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities for both simple and complex IT issues
• Ability to work collaboratively and rely on team support when needed
• Preferably some experience with real-time systems, SCADA or process historians
• Knowledge of databases, SQL, Web APIs, HTML5, Python, Windows operating systems, infrastructure and basic networking
• Clear communication skills when interacting with users, IT teams and business teams
• Team spirit, proactivity and strong sense of ownership in an operational environment
• Openness to occasional short missions abroad
• Languages: Dutch and French (one very good, the other good and willingness to speak it), English very good; other languages are a plus
• Car and driving license required due to occasional on-site visits
