Junior Pre-Sales Engineer

📋 1. Position Summary

The Cybersecurity Presales Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise throughout the sales process, from customer discovery and solution design through proof of concept, technical presentation, proposal development, and solution handover.

The role requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies, customer requirements, and business objectives to design and present appropriate security solutions that address customer risks and technical challenges.

🎯 2. Key Responsibilities🔍 A. Customer & Requirement Analysis

• Engage with customers to understand their business, security, network, and IT requirements.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions and security assessments.
• Identify security gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Translate customer requirements into technical and business solutions.
• Develop solution architectures based on customer environments.

🤝 C. Presales Activities

• Prepare technical proposals, solution designs, BoQs, and statements of work.
• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations.
• Develop Proof of Concept (POC) plans and lead POC implementation.
• Support RFP, RFQ, and tender responses.
• Prepare technical compliance matrices.
• Perform solution comparisons and competitive analysis.
• Support sales teams during customer meetings and negotiations.
• Provide technical responses to customer questions.
• Assist in sizing, licensing, and solution configuration.

🖥️ D. Technical Demonstration & POC

• Build demonstration environments and test scenarios.
• Conduct product demonstrations based on customer use cases.
• Install and configure solutions for POCs.
• Validate technical requirements and expected outcomes.
• Document POC results, findings, and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during demonstrations and POCs.

🌐 E. Vendor & Partner Management

• Work closely with cybersecurity vendors, distributors, and technology partners.
• Maintain knowledge of assigned products and technologies.
• Attend vendor training, workshops, and certification programs.
• Coordinate technical support and escalation with vendors.
• Evaluate new cybersecurity products and emerging technologies.
• Develop competitive positioning and solution differentiation.

🎓 3. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, presales, systems engineering, or related technical roles.
• Experience working with cybersecurity products and enterprise IT environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, VLAN, routing, switching, and network security concepts.
• Experience with technical presentations, demonstrations, and POCs.
• Experience responding to RFP/RFQ/tender requirements.
