Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Procurement Officer to support procurement activities for villa construction projects. The candidate will assist in sourcing construction materials, obtaining quotations, coordinating with suppliers, preparing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and purchasing construction materials, equipment, tools, and consumables for villa projects.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and prepare quotation comparison sheets.
• Coordinate with site engineers and project managers to identify material requirements.
• Prepare purchase orders and follow up on approvals.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites.
• Maintain supplier databases, price lists, purchase records, and procurement documentation.
• Follow up on pending orders, delivery schedules, and material availability.
• Compare prices, specifications, quality, and delivery terms to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Ensure purchased materials comply with approved specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with the storekeeper and site team to verify material deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Assist in tracking material consumption, stock levels, and outstanding purchase requests.
• Maintain proper records of invoices, delivery notes, quotations, and purchase orders.
• Follow up with the accounts department regarding supplier invoices and payment documentation.
• Build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support the procurement team in reducing material costs, avoiding delays, and minimizing wastage.

Construction Materials Knowledge

The candidate should have basic knowledge of materials commonly used in villa construction, including:

• Cement, concrete, sand, aggregates, and reinforcement steel.
• Blocks, bricks, plastering materials, and waterproofing products.
• Tiles, marble, granite, sanitary ware, and bathroom accessories.
• Paints, gypsum boards, ceiling materials, and decorative finishes.
• Doors, windows, aluminum works, and glass.
• Electrical materials, plumbing materials, and HVAC-related supplies.
• Construction tools, safety equipment, and general consumables.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in construction or villa projects.
• Basic understanding of construction materials and supplier markets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication.
• Experience with ERP or procurement software is an advantage.
• Good communication, negotiation, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple purchase requests and meet deadlines.
• UAE driving licence is an advantage, if site and supplier visits are required.
