Working alongside the Lead Product Designer and wider Product team, you'll support the creation of commercially successful products from initial concept through to production. You'll bring fresh ideas, a strong eye for design and a passion for football, fashion and culture, helping to deliver collections that reflect the Chelsea FC brand while meeting the needs of our diverse fanbase.
Whether you're an emerging designer with industry experience or a recent graduate with a strong portfolio, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within one of the world's leading football clubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of seasonal apparel, accessories, lifestyle products and kidswear collections.
- Create product CADs, colourways, graphics and technical design packs.
- Research fashion, sport, streetwear, youth culture and consumer trends to identify new opportunities and inspiration.
- Develop mood boards, colour palettes, product stories and range concepts.
- Work closely with Product Development to ensure accurate and detailed information is provided for sampling and production.
- Review and amend samples, updating fit, fabric, colour, graphic and product details based on feedback.
- Maintain organised design files, product information and critical path documentation.
- Support seasonal range reviews, product presentations and sign-off meetings.
- Contribute creative ideas that enhance the quality, relevance and commercial performance of Chelsea FC product ranges.
Skills & Experience
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Fashion Design, Graphic Design or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of apparel and product design, including graphics, colour, fabrics, trims and construction.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, with the ability to produce high-quality CADs and technical packs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- Genuine passion for football, fashion, sport, streetwear and wider cultural trends.
- Experience designing across menswear, womenswear, kidswear or lifestyle products would be advantageous.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, design thinking and product development capability.
Our Expectations:
- To embody the club’s BLUE behaviours (Brave, Lead, Unity, Edge) in the approach to work and interaction with others
- To adhere to the club’s policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Financial Authorisation, Confidentiality and GDPR.
- To act as an ambassador for diversity, equality, and inclusion, and demonstrate a positive commitment by treating others fairly in line with our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy and reporting any acts of discrimination through appropriate channels
- To create a safe environment and act to protect all young people and vulnerable adults that are either in your care or attending club premises, and report any concerns to the Safeguarding Lead
- To report any misconduct or suspected misconduct to the HR Department
