  • Communicate directly with customers to understand their requirements, operating conditions, and desired outcomes.
  • Review customer drawings, wiring requirements, specifications, and application information to determine product suitability and compliance.
  • Assist with the selection, configuration, troubleshooting, and application of electrical and electromechanical products.
  • Support products used in electrical power systems and other high-power applications.
  • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, technical reports, product documentation, and other engineering materials.
  • Prepare product drawings, component drawings, bills of material, routings, and engineering changes.
  • Support product modifications and custom configurations based on customer requirements.
  • Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, the Machine Shop, and other departments to resolve product, production, procurement, testing, and scheduling issues.
  • Assist with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting involving existing products.
  • Recommend improvements to product designs, processes, procedures, quality, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and product improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical training or product information to employees and customers as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Recent graduates and candidates with relevant internship, co-op, academic project, or entry-level engineering experience are encouraged to apply.
  • An associate degree in a related engineering technology discipline combined with relevant hands-on experience may also be considered.
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and related engineering documentation.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to create clear procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication, listening, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to understand a customer’s objectives and translate them into technical product requirements.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, academic, or professional experience in manufacturing, electrical products, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical power systems, three-phase power, industrial controls, switchgear, or high-power wiring applications.
  • Experience in the electric utility or power industry.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks, other 3D CAD, AutoCAD, other 2D CAD, ERP systems, or SyteLine.
  • Familiarity with UL, CSA, ISO, or other applicable industry standards.
