About the role
The Junior Product Manager will work alongside Senior Product Managers, Solution Architects, and Agile delivery teams to drive the end-to-end lifecycle of our digital platforms and enterprise IT applications. This role bridges business requirements and technical execution, translating customer needs, agent feedback, and business goals into clear user stories, functional specifications, and backlog items.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders (Operations, Distribution, Compliance, Marketing) to gather, analyze, and refine business requirements for IT applications and customer journeys.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria using Jira and Confluence.
- Maintain, groom, and prioritize the product backlog in close alignment with Agile Scrum/Kanban frameworks.
- Partner daily with UX/UI designers, software engineering squads, and QA teams during sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and sprint retrospectives.
- Help define Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and release scopes to ensure timely project delivery without compromising stability or compliance.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), review bug reports, and prioritize defect remediation prior to production deployments.
- Track product performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel) to monitor feature adoption, conversion funnels, and system usability.
- Assist in conducting user research, A/B testing, and feedback synthesis to continuously improve customer and agent journeys.
- Prepare feature demos, release notes, and training materials for operational teams and distribution channels.
- Ensure all IT product enhancements comply with our strict IT security baselines, data privacy regulations (e.g., PDPO), and Insurance Authority (IA) / MPFA guidelines.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business & Technology, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience as an Associate Product Manager, IT Business Analyst, or Junior Product Owner in a fintech, digital banking, insurance, or fast-paced tech environment.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello).
- Familiarity with web/mobile tech stacks, APIs, and microservice concepts.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and wireframing tools (e.g., Figma, Miro).
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Cantonese.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to navigate matrixed organizational structures and balance competing business priorities.
