Junior Project Architect

About the role

We are seeking a talented Junior Project Architect to join IIYAN C ARCHITECT SDN BHD on a full-time basis in Durian Tunggal, Melaka. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in architectural design and project management within a dynamic and growing firm. As a Junior Project Architect, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of architectural projects from concept through to completion. You will work closely with senior architects and project teams to contribute to the design process, ensure compliance with building regulations, and deliver high-quality architectural solutions for our diverse clientele. This position offers valuable hands-on experience and the chance to develop your technical skills whilst contributing meaningfully to the success of our projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee in the preparation of architectural drawings, specifications and technical documentation using CAD and 3D softwares
• Support the design development process by conducting research, site analysis and feasibility studies for various project types
• Collaborate with the Principal Architect and design teams to refine design concepts and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
• Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to architectural specifications
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, schedules and records in an organised manner
• Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants to communicate design intent and resolve technical queries
• Contribute to the production of presentation materials, visualisations and project reports for client meetings
• Support the preparation of tender documents and cost estimates for various projects
• Assist with quality assurance processes to ensure all deliverables meet the firm's standards and client expectations

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture (LAM Part 1) with experience, LAM Part 2 or equivalent professional qualification from a recognised institution.
• Strong proficiency in architectural software including AutoCAD, SketchUp and Rendering softwares.
• Solid understanding of architectural design principles, building regulations and construction methodologies.
• Excellent technical drawing and visualisation skills with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge in (mandarin) is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment whilst maintaining self-motivation and initiative.
• Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to think creatively and analytically.
• Willingness to learn and develop professional skills in a mentoring environment.
• Academic projects in architecture are preferred.
• Familiarity with Malaysian building standards and regulations.
