What they need
At Southern Cross Horticulture we're on a mission to build the world's best kiwifruit orchards and we do it by living our values of excellence, integrity and teamwork with a growth mindset.
We're looking for a like-minded Junior Project Manager to join our construction team where you will support the delivery team, working across a range of duties from basic land surveying and design work to ordering materials, equipment and supporting sub-contractor crews.
This role is a hands-on position, designed for someone who can adapt and pick up any task that needs doing. You are working on ever changing sites so your daily responsibilities could shift from out in the field conducting site surveys through to office work ordering inventory.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out land and orchard level surveys, including GPS-based fieldwork
- Operating drones to capture site data and support mapping and progress monitoring
- Inducting and supporting sub-contractor crews
- Overview of stock and equipment, where you will order and replenish required equipment
- Complying with health and safety protocols, including site check-ins and risk and incident reporting
- CAD orchard design
Who we're looking for:
We are looking for people who take pride in accurate, detail-focused work and enjoy a mix of fieldwork and design. Your background will ideally have:
- Experience in a construction environment in New Zealand with an understanding of surveying and the ability to work autonomously
- Confidence with GPS equipment, CAD software, and drone piloting (or willingness to learn)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with an understanding of ordering material and product
- A positive mindset, living above the line where you will work in a busy, fast moving environment
- Effective communication skills with a positive outlook to challenges
- A valid Full New Zealand Driver License
This is a position where you will start by supporting the construction team. You will grow in this role, picking up more tasks as your experience builds and we will work with you to grow your career.
Come join a business where you can thrive.
To ApplyWe require NZ based experience working on a construction site, either civil, commercial or residential. An understanding and working knowledge of surveying or Horticulture is a plus. A growth mindset and ability to adapt is a must.
