Junior QA Tester

About the role

The Junior QA Tester is responsible for assisting in ensuring the quality, functionality, reliability, and usability of the company's websites, applications, and software products. The role involves executing test cases, identifying and documenting software defects, conducting regression testing, and collaborating with developers and other team members to resolve issues before deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute manual test cases based on approved test plans and requirements
• Test website and application functionalities, including forms, buttons, navigation, links, and user workflows
• Verify that developed features meet the specified requirements
• Conduct functional, usability, compatibility, and basic regression testing
• Identify, document, and report software defects, inconsistencies, and unexpected system behavior
• Provide clear bug reports containing steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, and supporting screenshots or recordings
• Monitor reported defects and coordinate with developers regarding fixes
• Retest resolved issues to confirm that corrections are effective
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test checklists, and testing records
• Document test results and communicate testing progress to the QA Lead or assigned supervisor

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience
• Basic understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and software testing life cycles (STLC)
• Familiarity with manual testing concepts and defect-reporting procedures
• Basic knowledge of web applications, browsers, and website functionality
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and work collaboratively with a team
