Junior QA Tester

The Junior QA Tester is responsible for assisting in ensuring the quality, functionality, reliability, and usability of the company's websites, applications, and software products. The role involves executing test cases, identifying and documenting software defects, conducting regression testing, and collaborating with developers and other team members to resolve issues before deployment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, eager to learn, and capable of following established testing procedures while continuously improving their technical skills and understanding of software quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manual Testing

• Execute manual test cases based on approved test plans and requirements.
• Test website and application functionalities, including forms, buttons, navigation, links, and user workflows.
• Verify that developed features meet the specified requirements.
• Conduct functional, usability, compatibility, and basic regression testing.

2. Bug Identification and Reporting

• Identify, document, and report software defects, inconsistencies, and unexpected system behavior.
• Provide clear bug reports containing steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, and supporting screenshots or recordings.
• Monitor reported defects and coordinate with developers regarding fixes.
• Retest resolved issues to confirm that corrections are effective.

3. Test Documentation

• Prepare and maintain test cases, test checklists, and testing records.
• Document test results and communicate testing progress to the QA Lead or assigned supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of identified defects, retesting activities, and unresolved issues.

4. Collaboration and Coordination

• Coordinate with the Project Manager to clarify requirements and investigate issues.
• Participate in QA meetings, project discussions, and testing reviews.
• Assist in validating new features and updates before release.
• Follow the team's established QA procedures and development workflows.

5. Continuous Learning and Improvement

• Develop knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Learn to use bug-tracking, project management, and testing tools.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve testing processes and product quality.
• Perform other related QA duties as assigned.

III. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience
• Basic understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and software testing life cycles (STLC).
• Familiarity with manual testing concepts and defect-reporting procedures.
• Basic knowledge of web applications, browsers, and website functionality.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Trello, ClickUp, or similar project management and bug-tracking platforms is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of SQL, API testing, browser developer tools, or automation testing is an advantage but not required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and work collaboratively with a team.
