Junior QA/QC Engineer (Civil)

Location- United Arab Emirates

To ensure that all civil construction activities are performed in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The QA/QC Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining quality assurance through inspections, testing, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Assurance

• Implement the project-specific Quality Assurance Plan (QAP).
• Develop Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure proper implementation at site.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to identify quality requirements.
• Conduct quality inductions and toolbox talks related to QA procedures for site staff and subcontractors.

2. Quality Control & Inspections

• Perform daily inspections and testing of construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Issue and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken.
• Witness and verify testing of materials (concrete, soil, steel, etc.) and review third-party lab reports.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for joint inspections and approvals.

3. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain QA/QC logs, reports, site records, and test certificates.
• Prepare and submit quality-related reports, including daily inspection reports and monthly quality performance summaries.
• Maintain a system of document control for quality assurance records and quality deliverables.
• Assist in the preparation of Method Statements, Material Submittals, and as-built drawings.

4. Compliance and Continuous Improvement

• Ensure all works are executed in compliance with ISO standards, local regulations, and project requirements.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Promote continuous quality improvement initiatives across the project team.
• Provide feedback to engineering/design teams regarding recurring quality issues or design discrepancies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in QA/QC roles within civil contracting companies.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and international standards.
• Certification in QA/QC or ISO 9001 (preferred).
• Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation software.

Working Conditions:

• Based on project site with office support as required.
• May involve exposure to dust, heat, and outdoor site conditions.
