Junior QS

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing residential construction business based on Auckland’s North Shore.

This could suit someone already working as a Junior QS who wants more exposure and responsibility, or equally someone coming off the tools who has developed strong knowledge around estimating, pricing, materials and construction methodology and wants to move into the commercial side of the industry.

You don’t necessarily need years of formal QS experience. More important is a solid understanding of how residential projects come together, confidence with numbers and pricing, and the attitude to learn and develop.
The Role Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll gain exposure across:

• Estimating and pricing residential projects
• Quantity take-offs and material schedules
• Subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Procurement and cost tracking
• Variations and project costs
• Supporting projects from pre-construction through delivery
• Building your wider commercial and QS knowledge

About You You could currently be a Junior QS, Estimator, Quantity Surveying graduate, Carpenter or experienced tradesperson looking to make the move off the tools.

You’ll ideally bring good residential construction knowledge, an understanding of pricing and estimating, strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is keen to learn, develop and build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying.
