Junior Quantitative Analyst Job Profile and Description

A Junior Quantitative Analyst’s job entails managing a wide range of processes and projects in a fun, fast-paced work environment with a lot of autonomy. The Quantitative Analyst may interact with multiple departments including research, product development, and client services. This position also deals directly with the Head of Quantitative Research. Individuals working as a quantitative analyst perform a range of quantitative projects, from long term research projects to support new product development, working with existing quantitative products and models, to short-term ad hoc analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing a range of quantitative analysis including but not limited to product design, development, back testing and coding
• Keeping performance records up to date
• Answering inquiries from Sales and Marketing Departments
• Assisting in the production or implementation of marketing materials
• Ability to utilize project management system for documenting and tracking activities
• Lead the transition of prototype code into production environment

Skills and Specifications

• Competence in Python and R languages is required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel and VBA
• Working knowledge of Linux is beneficial
• Additional proficiency in Matlab or similar computational language is considered a plus
• Effective project management skills
• Be self-motivated, confident, energetic and creative

Education and Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Mathematics, Finance or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience

• Must be a resident of Puerto Rico
