Junior Quantitative Analyst

Fusion Asset Management is hiring a junior quantitative analyst for its London investment team. About Fusion

Fusion is an investment manager and part of an investment and wealth management group with c.£2bn of assets under management. It provides a managed portfolio service to financial advisers and their clients. Founded in 2004 as an institutional asset manager, Fusion takes a quantitative approach to portfolio construction and risk management. It seeks long-term sources of risk premia, captures them at low cost, and uses protective strategies to limit losses in market sell-offs.

What you’ll do

• Build and improve the systems the team uses for research, portfolio construction and risk.
• Research, develop and test quantitative strategies.
• Work with market and portfolio data, from gathering and cleaning it to analysis and modelling.

What we’re looking for

• Ideally a PhD in physics. A master’s in physics or a related subject will also be considered.
• Strong mathematics, at the level of a rigorous physics or mathematics degree.
• Up to three years’ experience working with data in a quantitative or research role. This is a junior role, so candidates straight from their degree are welcome.
• Ideally, experience working with data, in research or elsewhere.
• The ability to learn a programming language on the job. Experience in one is a plus, not a requirement.
