Junior Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Junior Quantity Surveyor will manage financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring high-quality delivery for clients. This role is suitable for fresh graduates looking to start their career in construction cost management.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Pre-Contract & Costing

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.

Conduct quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ).

Evaluate and negotiate prices with subcontractors and suppliers.

2️⃣ Contract Administration

Assist in contract administration, including handling variation orders (VO).

Prepare contractor certificates of payment.

Conduct joint measurements with contractors or clients.

3️⃣ Project Monitoring & Reporting

Monitor project costs and prepare progress claims, cost reports, and updates.

Conduct site valuations and measure completed work accurately.

Maintain accurate records of project costs, documents, and contracts.

Prepare monthly progress claims and final accounts.

4️⃣ Coordination & Support

Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams for smooth project execution.

Perform any ad hoc duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Skilled in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and/or QS-related software.

Detail-oriented, strong with numbers, able to meet deadlines.

Responsible, willing to learn, able to work under pressure.
