Junior Quantity Surveyors (Pre & Post)

About the Role

Revillon Metal Sdn Bhd is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented and responsible Junior Quantity Surveyor (Pre & Post) to join our team in Kg Baru Sungai Buloh, Selangor.

Revillon Metal Sdn Bhd is a manufacturer of metal products and contractor specialising in metal installation works for construction and interior projects.

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will support both pre-contract and post-contract activities, including quantity take-off, cost estimation, tender preparation, quotation comparison, progress claims, variation orders, subcontractor claims and final accounts.

This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to develop practical QS experience and gain exposure to both commercial management and actual project/site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Contract

• Assist in preparing quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates and tender pricing.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documents to identify quantities, materials and scope of works.
• Assist in preparing quotations and tender submissions.
• Obtain and compare quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare cost comparisons and material/subcontractor price analysis.
• Assist in evaluating tender prices and preparing tender documentation.
• Coordinate with project and technical teams to clarify scope, quantities and project requirements.
• Monitor material and market prices to support accurate costing and pricing.

Post-Contract

• Assist in monitoring and managing project costs and contract values.
• Measure completed works and assist in preparing progress claims and interim valuations.
• Verify progress claims submitted by subcontractors and suppliers against actual site progress and agreed rates.
• Prepare and monitor variation orders, variation claims and additional works.
• Review and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations for additional or variation works.
• Attend site visits and meetings when required to verify completed works, measurements and site conditions.
• Coordinate with project and site teams regarding work progress, measurements, variations and commercial matters.
• Assist in preparing cost reports, project records and other commercial documentation.
• Maintain proper and up-to-date records of contracts, claims, variations, quotations, measurements and payments.
• Assist in preparing and finalising final accounts.
• Support senior QS/project management in contract administration and commercial matters.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams on cost and contract-related matters.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with relevant working experience in Quantity Surveying, construction or metal works will have an added advantage.
• Able to read and understand construction, architectural and shop drawings.
• Basic understanding of quantity take-off, costing, tendering, progress claims, variation orders and final accounts.
• Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Able to communicate in Cantonese and/or Mandarin to liaise with Cantonese/Mandarin-speaking management/directors.
• Responsible, organised and able to maintain accurate project and commercial records.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as work effectively within a team.
• Willing to learn and develop practical knowledge in both pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Positive working attitude, disciplined and responsible.
• Willing to work overtime when required to meet project deadlines or urgent project requirements.
• Good attendance and punctuality with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to work.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Kg Baru Sungai Buloh, Selangor.
