Role Overview

Hechi Marketing Group is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Junior Sales Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their sales career who is eager to build strong client relationships, develop consultative selling skills, and contribute to business growth.

As a Junior Sales Consultant, you will engage with prospective and existing customers, understand their needs, present suitable solutions, and support the sales process from initial contact through to closing. You will play an important role in helping the team achieve sales targets while delivering a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage prospective customers through outreach, follow-up, and lead conversion activities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
• Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products or services
• Deliver clear and professional sales presentations and product information
• Support the full sales cycle, including lead qualification, quotations, negotiations, and closing
• Meet individual and team sales targets and performance goals
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and sales activity reports
• Follow up on enquiries and ensure timely communication with clients
• Work closely with team members and management to support sales initiatives and campaigns
• Stay informed about product offerings, market trends, and competitor activity
• Provide a high standard of customer service before, during, and after the sale

Requirements

Required

• 1–2 years of sales, customer service, or client-facing experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Confident, professional, and approachable manner
• Ability to build rapport and develop customer trust
• Goal-oriented with a strong willingness to learn and grow in a sales career
• Good negotiation and persuasion skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in an on-site team environment
• Basic computer literacy, including email, spreadsheets, and CRM or sales systems
• Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Diploma or certificate in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field
• Experience in direct sales, retail sales, call centre sales, or business development
• Familiarity with CRM platforms and sales reporting tools
• Understanding of consultative selling techniques
