Junior Site Quantity Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs and measurements for architectural, interior, structural, and related construction works, including preparing and checking BOQ quantities.

• Identify, record, and monitor variation works arising from drawing revisions, site instructions, RFIs, and other project changes, including maintaining the Variation/Change Order Register.

• Prepare quotations, cost estimates, and unit rate analyses for variation works, covering materials, labour, equipment, wastage, and related costs.

• Collect and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations, and assist the commercial team in reviewing and updating project cost information.

• Maintain commercial documentation, support interim payment applications, and coordinate with project, procurement, design, and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Building Engineering or a related field.

• At least 1 year of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.

• Experience in interior fit-out / architectural works is preferred.

• Able to read and understand construction drawings independently.

• Basic knowledge of BOQ measurement, quantity take-off, variation management and construction costing.

• Ability to prepare basic unit rate analysis / rate build-up is strongly preferred.

• Good command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate professionally in an English-speaking work environment.

• Detail-oriented, organized and comfortable working with quantities, drawings and commercial data.

• Able to coordinate effectively with project, design, procurement and commercial teams.

• Excellent command of Microsoft Excel. Proficiency in AutoCAD or other QS software is an advantage.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and digital quantity take-off software such as Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, CostX or equivalent.
