Junior Software Developer — E-Hailing & Fintech

About the Role

OMN1 is looking for a Junior Software Developer to join our engineering team, with a focus on our E-Hailing, Payments, and Fintech platforms.

You will work alongside senior and mid-level developers to develop, maintain, test, and improve the applications, backend services, APIs, payment functionality, wallet systems, and other technology that support the OMN1 platform.

This is an opportunity for a motivated junior developer to gain practical experience working on a live technology platform that combines e-hailing, digital payments, mobile wallets, financial technology, and other digital services.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of real-world software used by customers, drivers, merchants, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain E-Hailing application features.
• Develop and maintain Payments, Wallet, and Fintech functionality.
• Work within the OMN1 E-Hailing, Payments, and Fintech technology stack.
• Implement features based on technical and product requirements.
• Integrate mobile applications with backend services and APIs.
• Assist with payment and wallet-related integrations and functionality.
• Work with transaction flows, payment processing, wallet balances, and P2P transfers.
• Assist with implementing secure and reliable financial transaction functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs and application issues.
• Improve application performance, stability, security, and responsiveness.
• Test new functionality and assist with release preparation.
• Collaborate with senior and mid-level developers.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Write clean, reusable, secure, and maintainable code.
• Work closely with QA and other engineering team members.
• Follow OMN1 development, security, and coding standards.
• Assist with troubleshooting production and development issues when required.
• Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting application and transaction-related issues.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification or practical experience in Software Development, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of software development experience, including internships, projects, or practical development experience.
• Experienerstanding of APIs and application-to-backend communication.
• Familiarity with Git and software development workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of programming fundamentals.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a development team.
• Interest in E-Hailing, Payments, Fintech, Digital Wallets, or Financial Technology.
• Understanding of basic concepts around transactions, payments, balances, or digital wallets is advantageous.
• Strong awareness of software security and the importance of protecting user and transaction data.
