Junior Software Developer — Social Media & Chat

About the Role

OMN1 is looking for a Junior Software Developer to join our engineering team with a focus on our Social Media and Chat platforms.

You will contribute to the development, maintenance, testing, and improvement of social networking, messaging, and communication functionality within the OMN1 platform.

This is an opportunity for a motivated junior developer to gain practical experience working on real-world social and communication features within a growing technology platform.

Role

You will work alongside experienced developers to implement social and communication features, integrate application functionality with backend services, assist with real-time communication functionality, and continuously improve platform performance, reliability, and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Social Media and Chat functionality.
• Work within the OMN1 Social Media and Chat technology stack.
• Implement new features and application improvements.
• Integrate application functionality with backend services and APIs.
• Assist with real-time communication and messaging functionality.
• Work with chat, messaging, and social interaction features.
• Investigate and resolve application bugs and technical issues.
• Improve application performance, responsiveness, and stability.
• Test and debug implemented features.
• Collaborate closely with senior and mid-level developers.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Maintain clean, reusable, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Work with QA and other engineering team members.
• Assist with troubleshooting development and production issues.
• Follow OMN1 engineering, security, and development standards**.**

Requirements

• Relevant qualification or practical experience in Software Development, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of software development experience, including internships, personal projects, or practical development experience.
• Experience with software or mobile application development.
• Understanding of APIs and client-server communication.
• Basic understanding of programming fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a development team.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technically.

Advantageous

• Experience with Flutter and Dart.
