We are seeking a skilled Junior Software Engineer (SE2) to join our dynamic team in building secure, scalable, and high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in software development alongside a keen understanding of secure coding practices, automation, and deployment pipelines.

The Junior Software Engineer will support the design, development, and maintenance of full‑stack applications across modern cloud‑native environments. This role involves building responsive front‑end features, implementing backend services, maintaining CI/CD automation, and working with relational databases. The ideal candidate has foundational programming experience, a desire to learn, and the ability to collaborate within an agile team.

Whether you are passionate about writing clean, maintainable code across the frontend and backend, or you are focused on integrating security into CI/CD workflows, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native environments, we value your ability to work collaboratively across development, operations, and security teams. You will play a key role in driving innovation, ensuring software quality, and embedding security throughout the development lifecycle. Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a technical team and have effective oral and written communication skills. Successful candidates will have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Support application automation and deployment workflows using Argo.
  • Design, query, and maintain relational databases using MariaDB and PostgreSQL.
  • Troubleshoot software issues across the stack and contribute to incremental improvements.
  • Collaborate with senior developers to understand requirements, implement features, and ensure high‑quality code.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and documentation updates.
  • Learn and apply best practices for containerized applications, DevOps, and cloud‑native services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology
  • Minimum years of experience: 5-9
  • Applicant Must have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance, with SCI access
  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
  • Foundational knowledge of JavaScript and modern front‑end frameworks, preferably React.
  • Basic understanding of Go or willingness to learn backend development in Go.
  • Familiarity with Git‑based workflows (branches, merge requests, commits).
  • Introductory knowledge of relational databases (MariaDB or PostgreSQL).
  • Ability to follow CI/CD concepts and participate in pipeline development.
  • Willingness to work with application deployment tools such as Argo.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Effective communication and collaboration within a team environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) or Kubernetes concepts.
  • Experience writing SQL queries or designing database schemas.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure, automation tools, or DevOps practices.

ADA Notations:

  • Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to noisy.
  • Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds.
