Job Description

HILO SOFTWARES is hiring a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Tester / QA Engineer with knowledge of both Manual and Automation Testing.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of web applications, ERP/CRM software, e-commerce platforms, REST APIs, and Android/iOS applications.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of manual testing methodologies and working knowledge of automation testing tools, particularly Playwright. Knowledge of AI-powered testing tools and AI-assisted QA workflows is preferable.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Manual and Automation Testing for web and mobile applications.
• Prepare and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright or similar tools.
• Perform Functional, Regression, Smoke, Integration, UI, and End-to-End Testing.
• Test REST APIs using Postman or equivalent tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira or similar tools.
• Perform basic SQL queries to validate database records.
• Conduct cross-browser and responsive UI testing.
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot bugs and verify fixes.
• Perform testing before software releases and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Explore AI-assisted testing methods to improve test coverage and productivity.
• Maintain proper QA documentation and test execution reports.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of Manual Testing concepts.
• Knowledge of SDLC, STLC, test case design, and bug life cycle.
• Working knowledge of Automation Testing tools, preferably Playwright.
• Basic JavaScript or TypeScript knowledge for automated test scripting.
• Understanding of Functional, Regression, Smoke, and End-to-End Testing.
• Basic experience with API Testing using Postman.
• Basic SQL knowledge with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with bug-tracking tools such as Jira.
• Ability to identify, reproduce, and clearly report application defects.

Preferred / Added Advantage

• Knowledge of AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or other AI-assisted development and testing tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted test case generation, automation script creation, and bug analysis.
• Experience with Playwright Test framework, assertions, locators, and automated test execution.
• Knowledge of Selenium, Cypress, or other automation testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience testing React applications, ERP, CRM, and E-commerce systems.
• Understanding of mobile application testing.

Educational Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech / BCA / MCA / B.Sc / M.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.

Freshers with practical knowledge of manual testing and basic automation testing skills are welcome to apply.
