Junior Sous Chef

Shambles is a family-run, independent Italian restaurant & winebar in the heart of Teddington. Our aim has always been to create a relaxed and welcoming restaurant without pretence or fuss, serving seasonal Italian food with integrity. We cook from scratch using quality ingredients, including produce grown in our own kitchen garden, and work closely with trusted suppliers to source the very best ingredients.

We are looking for a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This role would suit an ambitious chef with experience in fresh Italian cooking who is ready to take the next step in their career within a busy, quality-driven restaurant.

What we’re looking for:Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a similar fresh-food environmentExperience with Italian cuisine is highly desirable (please note, we do not serve pizza)Strong knowledge of food safety and health & safety proceduresConfident working with fresh, seasonal ingredientsAbility to lead by example and support the development of junior team membersCalm and organised under pressurePositive attitude, strong work ethic and excellent reliabilityGood communication skills and a genuine team-player mentalityPassion for cooking and a desire to continue learning and developing
